People use corrugated loosely for any ribbed steel panel. Strictly, classic corrugated is the wavy profile; most modern agricultural and residential panels are trapezoidal ribs, which shed water better and span further between purlins. When you ask us for corrugated we will confirm which profile you actually want, because ordering the wrong one is a problem you discover on the roof.
The same panel serves several jobs. On roofs it needs the rib running down the slope with closures at ridge and eave. On walls it usually runs vertically with J-channel at openings. As fencing or interior feature cladding the weather detailing barely matters, but edges do — cut steel is sharp, and hemmed or trimmed edges are worth specifying if it is anywhere people touch.
29-gauge is standard and correct for most applications on properly spaced purlins. If your framing is widely spaced, 26-gauge resists deflection and oil-canning between supports. On a fence or interior wall where nothing spans, 29-gauge is entirely adequate and the upgrade is wasted money.
